Yanchep Lagoon is in Western Australia 55 Kms north of Perth. The lagoon has a gently shelving beach, protected by a reef a few hundred metres offshore.
Yanchep lagoon is a very popular bathing spot for for families with young children when the waters are calm. The reef is home to many varieties of fish which can be easily seen by snorkellers. There are many interesting rock formations to explore.
Fishing is also popular off the reef in the lagoon with herring and tailor often found in the waters outside the reef.
